Evidence & documentation · Paper Trail™

You saved it because it mattered.
Can someone else follow why?

The text is on your phone. The school notice is in a portal. The filing is in another folder. You remember the connection, but explaining it takes twenty minutes and three detours.

Someone else should be able to follow the record without relying on your memory.

Start with the question: a missed exchange, an allegation, a school decision or the issue raised in a filing. Keep the original sources, dates and surrounding conversation. Put your observations in separate notes so a reader can distinguish what occurred from what you think it means.

A chronology needs more than dates.

A usable entry connects the event to its source and context. Note what the document supports, which agreement or order may be relevant, and what remains unconfirmed. An excerpt may omit a response. A screenshot may refer to an email you don’t have. Keep those gaps visible.

Prepare a smaller set for the actual question.

You may have hundreds of messages and an attorney meeting next week. We can narrow the Paper Trail™ to the issue you need to discuss, build an index or chronology and identify questions that still need answers. Your attorney determines legal relevance, strategy and submission requirements.

These resources can help you build a usable record.

Make one record understandable without relying on memory.

Choose one event and connect its date, complete source, surrounding context and unanswered question. Keep your interpretation in a separate note. CIC can help you turn that first entry into a system another person can follow.
